New Project, Finished Project and A New Studio Hazzard

Its almost like I'm two different people... One that does these "Prettilies" and a different one that does the "Bizzarros". My mood dictates which I'll create.  Its not like a good mood, bad mood thing, but maybe a  nice mood and a devious mood.

New...

I've started (and probably finished) a new watercolor project. These are a couple of samples. I'm not sure how I'm going to display them yet. There are 3 sets of three so I could frame them individually or frame them in a frame for three. I don't know yet...

Finished...

I finished "Forgotten" finally. I had a tough time deciding what the backdrop should be. I had a lot of great suggestions from friends and family, from a black curtain, to a fun house mirror, to old carnival posters... Then, I came across this vintage photo of Coney Island in my collection. (Sorry-I accidently hit the italics key while typing and I'm not computer savvy enough to change it back!!) Its funny how the answers come to you when you're not expecting them. I enhanced the photo on the computer  (Heh! I can do THAT but I can't change the font back to arial!) and then affixed it to the back of the box.
I am very pleased with the results. Now I have to decide whether to show it or sell it. (I'm perplexed! I did not change the font!??????

Studio Hazzard...

Oh. And what we have here is a new Studio Hazzard. This is what you get when you open the door to your studio to let the light in. You also get your neighbor's chickens coming for a visit. Earlier, I mentioned a stray cat I call Otter. I'm not sure I want to know what will happen when he decides to visit when the "girls" next door are here. Could be awkward.... Some people have studio cats. This could be my studio chicken? Nah!

Finally...

Finally! Its 50 degrees out and there's no snow! (except a few places on the ground that hasn't melted away yet, here in the tundra)
I went down to my studio and opened up the door. Then, it was so-o-o-o nice out, I decided to hike back in the woods behind my house.

I came across this Fairy House. The Fairy wasn't home, though. No surprise. The fairy was probably out and about, too!

Saw this barbed wire growing through this old, dead tree.

I can't go anywhere without collecting something to bring home... A twig, two sticks, three sprigs, a brick and a thingamajig. The twig has these really cool white leaves attached to it. The sticks are for a couple of project ideas I have. The three sprigs are pussy willows I found. (I had taken my clippers with me). The brick is from a fireplace of an old (no longer there) cabin. And the thingamajig is just that. I think its some kind of small engine component like a filter of some sort. Its mine, now! : ) I laid my collection out on my driveway and took this pic. Then i printed it "cause I think its cool and I'm going to frame it.

Enough already!!

When will it end???? Does anyone have a direct line to Mother Nature? Please let her know that I am (im)patiently waiting to open up my studio door to let in the inspiration, which I am sure is backed up by now!
This little snow squall happened yesterday about 4:30 pm. It was done shortly after, but that's not the point. There is a time and a place for everything. The time for snow is WINTER and the place for it right now is SIBERIA.

I went outside this morning to (try to) photograph this flock of beautiful Cedar Waxwings
and it was....(wait for it...) SNOWING AGAIN. Make it stop, please make it stop! Its supposed to be 70 degrees on Sunday.????????????
Anyway, the Cedars are awesome! I was hoping to get some pics a little closer than way up in the trees, but that was not ot be. They weren't happy about the snow either. I'm a little disappointed because they don't typically stay very long, so it may be a missed opportunity. At least the kids got to see them this morning before they went off to school...
Sorry I don't have any new work to show you. I haven't even been in my studio in more than a week! Sometimes its hard when the ideas aren't flowing, even though I know that if I just go down there and work on something, the ideas will come. Well, perhaps I'll give it a go this afternoon. I'll keep you posted!
